Personal thoughts from within the Luxury Real Estate network
By: Clémence Robin of RP3
Currently marketing Lionsgate in Bethesda, MD
RP3 has emerged as the next generation of Rosenthal Partners, originally The Dan Rosenthal Company, one of the most award-winning ad agencies in the DC-metro area. After 19 years of success, Rosenthal Partners will be closing its doors this month when President and Executive Creative Officer Dan Rosenthal retires. RP3 takes forward the legacy of great creative work and casts a new vision with new leadership and new resources specifically configured for today’s ever changing marketing environment.
RP3 will be led by former Rosenthal Partners EVP and 15-year agency veteran Beth Johnson who will serve as president of the new firm, together with Creative Director Jim Lansbury and Strategic Planner Scott Gold. This new management team combines fresh insight into today’s empowered consumer, mastery of the newest engagement tools and techniques, and a passion for powerful creative ideas that make marketing dollars work better and faster.
“The advertising industry has changed more in the last five years than in its entire history. Marketers are frustrated with yesterday’s agency models that can‘t effectively connect with customers and prospects today,” said Johnson. “We want to start fresh, rethinking and redefining the way we go about contributing to the business goals of our clients.”
Dan Rosenthal, a fixture in the DC ad community who has been recognized by Forbe’s Magazine as one of the top 100 creative directors in the country, sees RP3 as filling a void in the agency landscape. “Traditional agencies are struggling to embrace the new realities of the empowered consumer, while digital shops are playing catch-up when it comes to brand strategy. RP3 already excels at both,” said Rosenthal.
Rosenthal Partners closes its doors June 30, RP3 opens theirs on July 1. According to Johnson, “With our new structure and solid track record, we’re extremely optimistic. As we like to say, we’re the agency of tomorrow, since yesterday.”
About RP3
RP3 is a collective of forward-thinkers with a long track record of solving tough marketing challenges. Their expertise spans all communications disciplines including advertising, design, interactive, brand architecture, contact planning, social media and beyond. Curious by nature, nimble by design, creative to the core, RP3 generates powerful ideas that fully engage consumers and make every marketing dollar work better and faster.

Today, LuxuryRealEstate.com posted its 1,000,000th property listing since the website originated in 1995. This is a major accomplishment for a website with such specific and discriminating standards. Properties listed on LuxuryRealEstate.com must be in the top 10% of property listings in any given market. The 1,000,000th property, a stunning waterfront Belle Epoque villa in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, France (near Nice and Monaco) listed by Home Hunts SARL can be viewed here: http://www.luxuryrealestate.com/1000000.
As a leader in the real estate and technology space since 1995, LuxuryRealEstate.com has paved the way on the internet for many other real estate websites, specifically in the luxury niche. LuxuryRealEstate.com is the most-viewed luxury real estate specific website in the world, with far more content than any other website of its kind. LuxuryRealEstate.com was recently named a Webby Award Honoree, the only real estate website to be granted this honor.
Property listings on LuxuryRealEstate.com are represented by members of the Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate network which includes 1,500 of the world’s finest real estate companies and individuals with properties in over 100 countries. Members have access to an array of powerful marketing solutions, including access to the Luxury Lounge, a ‘gated’ social networking website for members only. Participation is strictly invitation-only by CEO/Publisher John Brian Losh. The Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate network is governed by the Board of Regents.
Found on Zillow.com’s blog, LuxuryRealEstate.com member Sandi Phillip’s La Quinta listing is featured.
Frankie Avalon, singer and teen heartthrob actor opposite Annette Funicello in the 1960’s beach-themed movies (“Beach Blanket Bingo,” “Bikini Beach“) has listed his Spanish-style La Quinta home at 80373 Spanish Bay, La Quinta, CA for $1,180,000. It is listed by Sandi Phillips of California Lifestyle Realty.
Most recently, Avalon appeared on American Idol to surprise host Simon Cowell by singing “Venus,” the first of his two #1 hits from 1959 — the year Cowell was born. Avalon’s other #1 hit was “Why.”
Avalon’s home is located on PGA West, a “master-planned country club community” built in 1984 and the site of many PGA, LPGA, and Senior PGA tournaments. PGA West contains six golf courses and Avalon’s is on the 10th fairway of the Jack Nicklaus Tournament course. Avalon is an avid golfer and purchased the home in 2005 for $1,185,000, which is $5,000 more than its present listing price.
Whether you’re a golfer or not, the home looks to be a serene, desert getaway with views of the San Jacinto Mountains. It also has a popular “Quevedo” floorplan, which features open rooms with disappearing walls of glass that open the kitchen and family rooms to the outside. Also, if you like the furnishings you see in the photos, they can be purchased outside of escrow.

Given the state of the housing market, we're obviously following the visitor stats on LuxuryRealEstate.com really closely.
As the traffic has dropped significantly for sites like Trulia, Zillow, Realtor.com and for pretty much any other real estate website out there, the traffic for LuxuryRealEstate.com has remained pretty much exactly on the same level throughout the year.
As a matter of fact, on December 9, LuxuryRealEstate.com had more page views than we've had in three months since mid September.
We also see in stats that members share with us that LRE continues to bring a lot of traffic to their websites. In several cases we bring more traffic than those sites mentioned above combined.
Although sites like Trulia and Zillow can boast more overall traffic, we see now what a strong niche brand can bring. A niched website doesn't have the need to weed out among visitors the way that other broader websites have.
I think we keep our traffic constant in a harsh landscape because our visitors know exactly what to expect from us and because we have a broad brand awareness among the strong buyers on the market.
We intend to keep it that way.

From his blog: [Technologie] Des agences toujours à la pointe

From his blog: Should I Buy a Franchise or Go It Alone?
How much is a brand worth when deciding whether to join a franchise? Throughout Australia there are plenty of agencies willing to sell their letterhead and designs to almost anyone willing to pay the money to get it. Real estate names like LJ Hooker, Ray White, Richardson & Wrench, Laing+Simmons, First National, Hocking Stuart and now McGrath are all competing with many others to get the agent-come-entrepreneur’s buck.
To secure the franchise there are a number of requirements – an office in a prominent position is usually one of them. This, in itself, is cause for alarm in a world where the Internet is a part of life and online searches are an everyday thing. Most of us use Google some or most of the time as an Internet search engine, yet how many of us have been to the Google office? Where is their office?

The answer is probably not one person reading this blog has visited a Google office, yet the Google brand is massive worldwide and is a shining light indicating how business will be run, won and lost in years to come.
As you might be able to tell by now, I am not a fan of outdated business models with high fixed costs that hinder innovation. Real estate is becoming more and more an online industry where agents and brokers visit clients or meet at properties – not the real estate office of old. It’s estimated that spending on newspaper property advertising will decrease by around 18 percent this year and the trend is expected to continue.
Our world is changing quickly and it is essential to look forward to how the world might look in five years time before committing to a franchise that might not allow you to best keep pace with the changes necessary to be successful – one of them is to keep fixed costs low!

LuxuryRealEstate.com is the #1 place to go to find a multimillion-d
ollar luxury property on the Internet. But we also allow our members to put the entire Luxury Real Estate collection of tens of thousands of listings on their own website and make them searchable right there, in a way that you control. Instead of potentially losing a valued client to another broker, you gain the referral fee and retain the client’s business.
This is the LRE Global Broker Reciprocity, and it comes in two flavors: generic and custom.
Generic is included with Luxury Real Estate membership, and has a set template that looks the same on every site. Custom reciprocity has an additional fee but is customized to blend in with the design of each website so that it gives a more consistent user experience for customers.
Examples of custom reciprocities:

www.ewingandclark.com/properties/global_property_search
If you haven’t put the LuxuryRealEstate.com listing search on your website, send an email to reciprocity (at) luxuryrealestate.com to learn more.
